Day 4 IELTS Listening Practice - Section 1

Topic: Booking A Hotel Room

Receptionist: Good evening. Lakeside Hotel. How may I help you?

Guest: Good evening. I would like to book a room for next weekend, please.

Receptionist: Certainly. What day would you like to arrive?

Guest: I would like to arrive on Friday the fourteenth of July.

Receptionist: And how many nights would you like to stay?

Guest: Two nights, please. Friday and Saturday.

Receptionist: That is fine. We have single rooms and double rooms available.

Guest: I need a double room.

Receptionist: Would you prefer a standard double room or a room with a lake view?

Guest: How much is the lake-view room?

Receptionist: The standard double room is ninety-five pounds per night. The lake-view room is one hundred and twenty pounds per night.

Guest: I will take the lake-view room.

Receptionist: Very good. Breakfast is included in the price.

Guest: What time is breakfast served?

Receptionist: Breakfast is served from seven thirty to ten o'clock in the morning.

Guest: Good. Is parking available?

Receptionist: Yes. Parking is free for hotel guests, but you need to give us your car registration number when you arrive.

Guest: That is fine.

Receptionist: May I take your name, please?

Guest: My name is Hassan Malik.

Receptionist: Could you spell your surname?

Guest: Yes. M A L I K.

Receptionist: Thank you. And can I have your phone number?

Guest: It is zero seven seven one six, five zero two, double eight four.

Receptionist: Let me repeat that. Zero seven seven one six, five zero two, double eight four.

Guest: Yes, that is correct.

Receptionist: What is your email address?

Guest: It is hassan dot malik at mail dot com.

Receptionist: Thank you. Your booking reference is H three nine six two.

Guest: H three nine six two. Okay.

Receptionist: Check-in starts at three o'clock in the afternoon. Check-out is before eleven in the morning.

Guest: Can I check in earlier?

Receptionist: Early check-in is sometimes possible, but it depends on room availability.

Guest: Understood.

Receptionist: Your booking is confirmed for a lake-view double room for two nights.

Guest: Thank you very much.

Receptionist: You are welcome. Goodbye.

Guest: Goodbye.
